When we arrived at the intersection of Washington
and Lockwood we all sat in the street and observed a moment of
silence. After the moment of silence a number of people spoke
about their experiences on the streets of Chicago. At one point
gin asked how many people had been hit on the streets. About a
third of us raised our hands, myself included.
The last person to speak was Robert McBride, Thomas'
older brother. He thanked all of for our interest in his family
and their loss. He thanked the local residents and he thanked
the police. He also reminded us to all be kind.
